 OUR STORY

WE ARE:

Wordville started as a PR agency in 2007, helping brands and individuals get noticed. We won a few awards for our work and built a track record with clients in the culture sector. In 2021, our Mayor, Lucy Tertia George, a published novelist herself, decided to start an independent imprint. The motivation was to see her late father's book about the Crucible Theatre in print in time for the Sheffield theatre's 50th anniversary. With that book underway, there were other tales to tell. We want to share stories about the individuals and organisations that helped shape the performing arts. Not unlike our original agency, Wordville Press also works with a diverse group. What connects them all is the performing arts.

In 2023, Wordville acquired respected theatre publisher Salamander Street

WE SUPPORT:

Wordville is an enthusiastic supporter and board member of MetamorPhonics, a Community Interest Company that creates inclusive environments for music making, with students in higher education and adults in recovery, including people with lived experiences of homelessness. MetamorPhonics creates bands, each with their own identity, across the UK and internationally. The bands are set up in collaboration with higher education, orchestras, occupation rehabilitation centres and homeless charities. Find out more at MetamorPhonics and listen to the music of The Messengers, Korda Samfónía, Blæbrigði, Hamarinn-Hafnarfjörður, The Trailblazers, Visions and Roll Call.
